User Trial Results
A modified 8-week mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) course has been designed into our patented connected health VR platform.
The platform was tested at the beginning of 2016 at a research rehabilitation hospital in Slovenia with 8 participants; 4 employees and 4 patients with traumatic brain injuries. Their outcomes were evaluated using standardised measurement tools that included the MindFul Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). The results from this trial were accepted for presentation at the Telehealth and Assisted Technology Conference in Zurich and the paper can be downloaded here.
A second paper entitled “Cloud based virtual reality application can elicit a novel tele-mindfulness service,” has been published in the Journal for Medical Internet Research, and can be found here.
